A 35-year-old Zimbabwean nurse based in the United Kingdom was found dead in a hotel room in Harare on Monday.
According to H-Metro, the deceased, identified as Rebecca Yeukai Nguruve, had arrived in Zimbabwe from the UK before checking into a hotel in the Central Business District at around 1am on Sunday.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the incident, saying the body was discovered the following day by hotel staff during routine cleaning.
“I can confirm the death of 35-year-old Rebecca Yeukai Nguruve,” said Inspector Chakanza. “Her body was discovered on February 2 at around 9am at Jameson Hotel after staff noticed water flowing from her room.”
Police said preliminary investigations suggest the death may have been a suicide. However, the official cause of death has not yet been established, pending the completion of investigations and post-mortem examinations.
